IPS provided architectural and engineering services to consolidate one of their existing campuses to their Irvine campus. This consolidation effort included relocation of labs, cleanrooms, and office functions.

IPS assisted with facility assessments in order to determine the best buildings to house these new functions on the Irvine campus. J&J decided to lease an existing 47,000sf facility that was recently vacated on their Irvine campus along with renovating space within their existing buildings. IPS met with end users and obtained feedback with respect to current and future area requirements and needs. IPS evaluated potential building locations, surveyed the existing sites and developed test fits for the proposed locations.

One of the key challenges for this project was that this was a confidential project within J&J.

This made collecting user requirements very difficult because not all of the personnel were “clean sheeted”  to assist with this project.

With the limited information  available, IPS also collected, evaluated and determined current and future space requirements based on J&J’s projected growth. IPS layed out the facility to meet all requirements for labs, cleanrooms, and workplace Innovation criteria. IPS provided early and extensive construction administration services for bidder assist and coordination for early development of construction efforts throughout the design phase to meet the project’s crucial timeline.
