Penn is mightier than a horde of others in terms of the interview yield
Not too many states have yielded four interviews or more, and on Day 48, near the culmination of The Road to 50 States, Pennsylvania was added to that select list. With a strong history of fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals, and going further back, the first hospital in the United States, it's perhaps not surprising that The Keystone State held up in rankings of contribution. The team didn't have to travel too far beyond Philadelphia to get input at IPS. They saw a little bit of the Fall countryside as they moved around but with less than 50 miles between their start hotel and end hotel, it was perhaps the most efficient day of interviews on the trip. This did give them time for a lunch at a hole-in-the-wall, where they enjoyed good food and good conversation with four gentlemen who talked about their experiences with healthcare. Just one state missing to complete the puzzle and two days left.
