The Critical Utilities Tour at INTERPHEX focuses on the state of the industry as it pertains to pharmaceuticals. While the underlying unit operations have not changed significantly, the pressure to reduce both operating and capital costs, as well as executing in an environmentally friendly manner has never been greater. Tour participants will visit equipment manufacturers who are delivering state-of-the-art solutions to critical utility generation, storage and distribution, and support systems used for temperature control and cleaning.

Todd has over two decades of experience in the industry and is a leading clean utilities engineer. Todd has extensive experience in the critical utilities design for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Todd focuses on advanced critical utilities design from conceptual layouts to final design and construction services for numerous facilities throughout North America, Puerto Rico and South America. Todd is experienced in detailed designed and construction for high purity water systems, pure steam systems, CIP systems, clean gases, biowaste and waste neutralization systems. Todd’s capabilities include project scope development, process utility studies, equipment layouts, detailed design, construction administration, system start-up and commissioning. Throughout the years I have spent a considerable amount of time in the field providing construction support and obtaining my ASME Section IX weld certification to perform small-scale installs for critical utility systems. His project work includes the design of various critical utilities system for facilities that support the production of Biotech products. One of the facilities included two (2) 20,000L Bioreactors production capacities, and a site-wide critical utilities upgrade to support future production. Additionally, Todd has provided critical utilities systems for over 20+ pharmaceutical companies worldwide.
